Are you ready for a Magical Mystery Tour?

Strawberry Island – Lewis and Clark named this historic area Strawberry Island, probably for obvious reasons. Although we can’t promise you wild strawberries we can guarantee stunning scenery, wildlife, history and a relatively safe way to try a really long distance!

Race Information:
This is a 10k loop course in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, in a recreation area managed by the Corps of Engineers. It runs through field, forest, and along the majestic Columbia River. The course is dirt trail and graveled trail. There is roughly 200 feet of elevation gain and 200 feet of elevation loss.

The start and finish of the loop are at the North Bonneville Ball Fields where participants can stop for refreshments as they are counted by the chip mat. Runners can put up a tent at the park for a change of gear or a nap. The course also runs past 3 bathrooms and a small detour will get you a 4th bathroom.
This is a great opportunity to test all your gear or your stamina with limited consequences!

All races start at 9am. Runners can get an award for a 10k, 50k 100k or 100 miles within a 30-hour limit. 100 miles is 16 loops. If you don’t make 100 miles, you can opt for a 100k award. If you don’t make 100k you can opt for a 50k award. I’m sorry 50k’s but there is no way your getting a 10k award unless you officially drop down! I will be up all night to deliver your award.

There will be food and drink available for the entire 30 hours. There is a good possibility that there will be music, fun and frivolity as well!

There are plenty of things for your loved ones to do while waiting. They can pace you for a lap or two. They can visit Bonneville Dam, see a 10ft sturgeon at the Bonneville Fish Hatchery, there are world class waterfall hikes, hot springs for soaks, Beacon Rock for a climb, Beacon Rock and Skamania Lodge golf courses, three local brew pubs, a frisbee golf course and lots of swimming! Or, there is just sitting on one of the many benches and taking in the views of this National Scenic Area.
