May 18 Ridge Run 10-Miler 9am
Point-to-point race – from Stevenson to Carson this year!
The Columbia Gorge Running Club invites runners and walkers of all ages and abilities to take on the 10-mile Ridge Run. This point-to-point race goes up and over the scenic ridge between the towns of Carson and Stevenson, WA. It’s a stout climb in both directions – so much so that Backwoods Brewing (in Carson) named a delicious oatmeal stout after this event.
Where:
The 2024 event starts at the Skamania County Fairgrounds, 710 SW Rock Creek Dr. in Stevenson, proceeds up and over the ridge and finishes at Backwoods Brewing in Carson. Course map. This is a point-to-point race, so you can either park at the pub in Carson and carpool to the start in Stevenson, or find a ride back to the start after enjoying a pint of Ridge Run Stout and some food. There is not a shuttle to the start (or finish), so you will need to coordinate your own ride. It is highly recommended that you meet in Carson at 8am and carpool from there to the start.
Carpool details:
Meet in Carson at this location at 8am. It is located on the west side of the Wind River Hwy, just past Backwoods Brewing. This is property owned by Backwoods where they have their rental cabins. It is a short walk from the pub to this parking location. There is simply not enough room in the parking lot at the pub for everyone to park, so please meet at this location. Everyone showing up there at 8am is looking to carpool, so make some friends and pile into as few vehicles as possible. It is about a 10-minute drive from there to the fairgrounds in Stevenson. When you arrive at the fairgrounds, park in this lot. Race start will be just around the livestock building by the restroom.
Race bib pick-up will be at the fairgrounds near the restroom – be sure to be checked in before the race starts at 9am. If you bring a labeled bag, we can shuttle it to the finish for you.
